Meeting Between H.E. Ambassador Mr. Ara Margarian and Mr Šarūnas Birutis, Acting Minister of Culture of Lithuania

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Lithuania, H.E. Mr. Ara Margarian, was received at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania by Acting Minister Mr. Šarūnas Birutis.

Ambassador Margarian presented recent developments in Armenia and the region, highlighting the high-level political dialogue established between Armenia and Lithuania, as well as the need to further advance mutually beneficial sectoral cooperation.

The discussion also touched upon the importance of bilateral visits aimed at deepening cultural cooperation between the two countries. On this occasion, the Ambassador extended an invitation on behalf of the RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Ms. Zhanna Andreasyan, for Mr. Birutis to visit Armenia.

The parties explored prospects for developing joint cultural initiatives, exchanging best practices, and organizing sector-specific meetings between experts from the two countries.

Both sides noted that the shared historical past could serve as a valuable foundation for exchanging experience in the area of sectoral reforms, particularly in shaping and modernizing cultural policy.

The importance of organizing joint cultural events was also emphasized, as a means to promote mutual understanding and enhance cultural dialogue between the peoples of Armenia and Lithuania.
